Vol Opt's first form has a damage transfer bug: when you hit a Monitor with an attack technique (other than Megid) or a physical attack, the damage passes to the core in an unusual way. The transfer formula is:
Damage = (ATP - DFP) / 5
In this formula:
the weapon's Machine % counts towards effective ATP as usual;
the global 0.9 damage factor is not applied;
elemental resistance, cane boosts and technique power make no difference.
With this bug, equipping a high-ATP weapon and casting Gizonde to lock Vol Opt in place defeats the first form very efficiently. Each Gizonde hit causes a brief stun, so casting it repeatedly keeps the boss unable to act (Gizonde stunlock).
Choosing a weapon
The table covers several common weapon setups. It assumes the character's ATP is maxed and a Combat Gear (+35 ATP) is equipped:
⚔Excalibur and Galatine: high-ATP swords, the most common choice
★Sacred Duster and Angry Fist: fist weapons; male characters' bare-handed casting animation is the fastest, making the stun rhythm easier to keep
◆Red Saber + Crimson Coat (CC) and Orotiagito + Samurai Armor (SA): set bonuses add extra ATP
⚔Vivienne: an option for FOnewearl

Notes
Machine % is the weapon's Machine attribute percentage. It counts towards effective ATP, so it changes how much damage each Gizonde passes through the bug. The higher the percentage, the fewer casts you need.
Shifta level (S3/S15/S20/S30) sets the physical attack bonus. Each class has a different maximum Shifta level it can learn on Ultimate.
Normal is multiplayer-room data and One person is one-person-room data (enemy HP differs).
Because of latency, stunning the core can be unreliable online. Consider a fist weapon then, since male characters' bare-handed casting animation is the fastest of any character.
