What is special reduction?
Some weapons can hit multiple targets or hit multiple times per attack. Their special activation chance or effect is reduced for game balance.
Common misconception: “Weapons with 9 stars or fewer have reduced specials; those with 10 or more do not.” This is incorrect.
Actual rule: Reduction depends on the weapon’s hexadecimal ID group (02/03/04/05/08/09), not its star rating. For example, Zero Divide (10 stars) and Asteron Belt (10 stars) also have reduced specials.
Exceptions
- Sacrificial specials (Charge / Spirit / Berserk) are not reduced.
- Elemental damage (fire / lightning) is not reduced.
- Specials on single-target weapons and ES weapons are not reduced.
